On November 5, the Carabinieri of the Operational Section in Verona arrested a 38-year-old Italian man, already known to law enforcement, following a precautionary custody order issued by the Verona Court. The man is accused of an improper robbery that occurred on July 10, when he broke into the home of an 84-year-old woman in the Ca’ di David neighborhood. After taking her wallet and the keys to her safe, he attempted to flee, hitting an off-duty Carabiniere who was intervening.
Thanks to the analysis of surveillance camera footage, investigators were able to identify the vehicle used in the robbery and trace it back to the suspect. The man is currently already in custody at the Verona-Montorio Prison for other charges and has been notified of the precautionary measure for this criminal incident.
