Sunday at the Museum 2024, free museums with the MiBAC initiative
Starting from May 2022, #domenicalmuseo (Sunday at the Museum) returns, the initiative promoted by the MiBAC (Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism) that offers free access on the first Sunday of the month to hundreds of museums, archaeological sites, and cultural places throughout Italy!
Among these, 9 sites belong to the province of Brescia: let’s discover which ones!
Domenicalmuseo: the Brescia sites that can be visited for free
From the UNESCO World Heritage rock art sites in the Valle Camonica to the precious archaeological finds of Desenzano del Garda, from the Sanctuary of Minerva in Breno to the Grotte di Catullo in Sirmione, Brescia ranks among the top provinces in northern Italy in terms of the number of places open for free.
A priceless heritage that is increasingly in the spotlight of international tourism. Here is the list of the 9 Brescia sites involved in the #domenicalmuseo initiative:
MUPRE – National Museum of Prehistory of the Valle Camonica;
National Archaeological Museum of the Valle Camonica;
National Archaeological Park of the Massi di Cemmo;
Archaeological Park of the Theater and Amphitheater of Cividate Camuno;
National Park of Rock Engravings of Naquane;
Sanctuary of Minerva in Breno;
Scaliger Castle in Sirmione;
Grotte di Catullo and Archaeological Museum of Sirmione;
Roman Villa and Antiquarium of Desenzano.
Some locations can only be visited by appointment.
