The SP38 road in the Tignalga area, which connects the municipalities of Tignale and Tremosine, is “running out of time”. After being reopened to allow vehicular traffic during the Easter holidays, the road will be closed again in the coming days.
The section in question was affected by a landslide at the end of October during a period of bad weather. Since then, due to the closure of the Forra road after a landslide in mid-December (also part of the SP38 and connecting Gardesana with the Tremosine plateau), residents of the plateau have been forced to take the SP115, a provincial road that goes from the town of Vesio, in the municipality of Tremosine, to the coast in Limone.
The precise date of the new closure of the SP38 has not yet been announced, but it will be decided on Monday. The closure will be necessary to complete the construction of the retaining wall along the slope.
This situation causes significant inconvenience for the residents of the area and anyone who needs to reach the Tremosine plateau. It is hoped that the work will be carried out as quickly as possible and that the road can be reopened without restrictions. In the meantime, drivers are advised to plan alternative routes or use public transportation if possible.
