In March, several reports were received by the local police command in Riva del Garda regarding abandoned bags containing waste in the Fangolino area. Officers carried out several inspections, confirming the presence of waste sealed in bags similar to those distributed by supermarkets.
Thanks to the use of a surveillance system and the viewing of the footage, it was possible to identify the vehicle from which the bags were being thrown. The Command then organized a series of checks with the help of plainclothes officers and an unmarked car to catch the responsible person in the act.
On March 20th, the officers managed to catch the man in the act of throwing the bags from his car. After being identified, he was taken to the police station for questioning. The man is a 69-year-old resident of Alto Garda and Ledro who has been reported to the judicial authorities for violating environmental regulations.
Councilor Luca Grazioli expressed satisfaction with the work of the local police command and the environmental inspectors who contributed to the identification of the responsible person. He emphasized the administration’s commitment to promoting proper waste management through information and strongly condemned behaviors like the one observed, highlighting that the majority of the city behaves correctly and responsibly.
