The 16th edition of FIORInellaROCCA, a flagship event for gardening enthusiasts and nature lovers, will take place from April 12th to 14th, 2024 at the Venetian Visconti Fortress in Lonato del Garda. This location harmoniously blends history, art, and nature. The exhibition-market not only offers a selection of rare plants and flowers but also the opportunity to immerse oneself in a unique historical and artistic context, thanks to visits to the fortress itself and the museum complex of the Ugo Da Como Foundation.
Visitors to FIORInellaROCCA will be able to admire and purchase a wide variety of plants, including perennial herbs, roses, peonies, aromatic and special vegetables, citrus fruits, olive trees, palm trees, and much more. There will also be garden furniture and decorations available, making the event a must-attend for those looking to beautify their green spaces.
FIORInellaROCCA also caters to children by setting up the Hortus Conclusus, a playful and educational space where kids can participate in nature-themed games and workshops. Additionally, visitors can take a relaxing break at the Coffee-House della Rocca, where they can enjoy a light lunch in a historic atmosphere.
During the event, it will be possible to explore the Casa del Podestà, one of Italy’s most significant house-museums, which will host an exhibition dedicated to Nino Ferrari, a master in metalworking. Furthermore, in the Sala del Capitano della Rocca, visitors can admire the exhibition “Piranesi | Basilico – Views of Rome,” a comparison between views of the capital city created by Gabriele Basilico and the engravings of Giambattista Piranesi.
Practical information: Tickets for FIORInellaROCCA can be purchased online for 5 euros (free admission for children under 14), with an additional 5 euros for the visit to the Casa del Podestà. The event is open from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm on the specified days. The Venetian Visconti Fortress in Lonato del Garda can be reached by car or train, with convenient proximity to the Lonato and Desenzano del Garda-Sirmione train stations.
