Contemporary architectural culture in Trentino is celebrated and promoted through the “Premio Costruire il Trentino” (Building Trentino Award), a growing event that will take place at the Mart in Rovereto from April 5 to June 2, 2024. This event is the result of a collaboration between CITRAC and the Order of Architects, Planners, Landscape Architects, and Conservators of the Province of Trento, and it provides a significant opportunity for dialogue and professional development regarding the future of architecture in the region.
The exhibition at the Mart presents a carefully selected collection of architectural projects that have distinguished themselves in the context of the award. Visitors and professionals will have the chance to admire the winning project, two honorable mentions recognized for good practice and commissioning, and three other finalist projects. These works, selected by a jury of internationally renowned experts, represent excellence in interpreting the characteristics of Trentino, with a particular focus on enhancing and improving the local context.
The jury for this sixth edition includes prominent figures such as Walter Angonese, Michel Carlana, Maria Claudia Clemente, Bettina Götz, and Franco La Cecla, who have selected the projects based on criteria of innovation, respect for the existing context, and sustainability.
Accompanying the exhibition are a series of photographs by Paolo Calzà, part of a territorial exploration photographic project. These photographs contribute to immersing visitors in the atmosphere and landscapes of Trentino, enriching the visual experience of the exhibition.
Furthermore, the exhibition catalog, curated by Simona Galateo and published by the Mart, will be available from May 31, 2024. This volume not only documents the exhibited projects but also includes all the participants in this edition of the award, offering a broader and more detailed analysis of the architectural proposals and visions that characterize Trentino today.
