The Libertas Scherma Salò achieved excellent results at the National Championships, with two bronze medals won by athletes Alessandro Molteni and Mattia Salvatore. The competition took place in Rovigo and saw the participation of around 800 athletes from all over Italy.
In the Fioretto Giovanissimi category, Mattia Salvatore reached the third place on the podium, confirming his skills in the foil. Already a two-time regional champion, Mattia continues to improve constantly and achieved an excellent result in this national competition.
Alessandro Molteni also stood out in the Fioretto Maschietti category, securing the third place after defeating his teammate Umberto Aime, who also made it to the top 8 of the competition. This was Alessandro’s first year of competing and his second national event, demonstrating great potential for the future.
Other athletes from Libertas Scherma Salò achieved good placements in the competition. Simone Fiocca improved his position compared to the previous trial, finishing 52nd. Francesco Puzzi ranked 66th in his debut in a national competition, while Mattia Morettini placed 71st.
The team is now preparing for the “finali nazionali” of the Gran Premio Giovanissimi Renzo Nostini, which will take place in Riccione from May 1st to 8th. This event is considered the most anticipated and important of the year for all young Italian fencers.
