April 25th is a day of great importance for Italy as it commemorates the anniversary of the Liberation from the fascist regime during World War II. Even in Salò, on the shores of Lake Garda, initiatives will be organized to commemorate this historic event.
The Municipal Administration of Salò, together with the National Association of Italian Partisans and the “Fiamme Verdi” Association, invites the citizens to participate in the celebrations that will take place according to the following program.
The event will begin at 10:00 am at the P. Ebranati Garden, where a wreath will be laid in memory of the fallen. Subsequently, at 10:30 am, another wreath will be laid on the G. Falcone – P. Borsellino Pedestrian Lakeside Promenade to honor the sacrifice of the symbolic victims in the fight against the mafia.
At 11:00 am, everyone will move to Piazza della Vittoria, where a wreath will be laid to remember the citizens, fighters, and civilians who died in the War of Liberation in Italy and abroad, in concentration camps and IMI camps. The fallen of all wars will also be remembered.
During the ceremony, representatives of the Fiamme Verdi Brescia Association, the Mayor of the Salò Council of Young People Pietro Preziosa, and the Mayor of Salò Giampiero Cipani will speak.
The City Band is expected to participate in the procession.
These celebrations represent an important moment to remember the past and pay tribute to those who fought for freedom and democracy. It is an opportunity to reflect on the history of our country and to commit ourselves to preserving the ideals of peace, progress, and freedom.
The invitation is extended to all citizens of Salò to participate in these initiatives, thereby contributing to collective memory and the promotion of the fundamental values that have made our current society possible. You can find more information on the official website.
