Lonato del Garda is preparing to celebrate the Liberation Day and the 79th Anniversary of April 25th with a series of events involving civil and military authorities, combat associations, schools, and the population.
The day will begin at 9:45 am with a gathering at Piazzetta XXV Aprile. The authorities, combat associations, school representatives, and citizens will be present. The flag will be raised and a laurel wreath will be laid at the Fanti Memorial to officially commemorate the anniversary.
Subsequently, at 10:30 am, a Holy Mass will be held at the Basilica of St. John the Baptist, officiated by Father Alessandro Turrina. The Lonato del Garda Music Corps will also be present during the celebration.
In the afternoon of April 25th, the ANPI (National Association of Italian Partisans) section of Lonato del Garda will organize the “Path of Memory” initiative. During this event, participants will have the opportunity to revisit the places related to World War II on the territory.
The event is an important moment to remember the sacrifice of the partisans and the people who fought for freedom during the Resistance. The Liberation Day represents a moment of reflection on the history of our country and the importance of preserving the memory of those events.
The official event poster and the “Path of Memory” initiative flyer are attached to the press release. You can find more information here.
