The itinerary of the Garda Express starts from Milan Centrale station and ends in Desenzano del Garda, offering a journey through the natural wonders of the Brescia territory to the shores of Lake Garda.
A Journey Through Time
The journey takes place on a steam and electric locomotive, using historic “Centoporte” carriages from the 1930s and Corbellini carriages from the 1950s. This historic train also includes a luggage compartment, ensuring an authentic experience from another era. Once in Desenzano, travelers can explore the town and other locations on the lower lake using the Navigazione Laghi boats.
Event Details
The next edition of the Garda Express is scheduled for Sunday, June 9, 2024. During this day, it will be possible to experience a unique journey aboard a historic train, with the support of the staff of the Associazione Ferrovie Turistiche Italiane, who will provide assistance to travelers. It is allowed to bring any luggage on board free of charge.

Tickets for the Garda Express are available on the official Trenitalia website, as well as at railway station ticket offices, self-service machines, or authorized travel agencies. The initiative promoted by Fondazione FS Italiane provides free admission for children aged 0 to 14 with a seat reservation.
