In the afternoon of Wednesday, May 22nd, a column of black smoke caused concern among the residents of Desenzano del Garda. Shortly after noon, a fire broke out in a villa located on Via Dugazze, causing a general alarm in the local community.
Although the origin of the flames has not yet been determined, it is confirmed that the occupants of the house – a woman and her son – were able to escape unharmed. According to Bresciaoggi, the family noticed a strong smell of burning coming from the basement of the house, allowing them to react promptly.
Law enforcement agencies were promptly called to the scene, with firefighters being joined by local police officers and Red Cross rescuers. The firefighting operation was also facilitated by the rain that was falling at the time, helping to contain the flames and reduce the damage.
Thanks to the quick response of the emergency services and favorable weather conditions, the fire was extinguished without serious consequences for the occupants of the villa or the surrounding houses.
