A 41-year-old artisan named Ricardo, of Brazilian origin and residing in Mantova, is at the center of a legal dispute after winning three million euros in a scratch-off lottery ticket purchased on Lake Garda. The situation became complicated when two friends reported him, claiming that the last winning ticket worth two million euros was purchased as a group, and therefore the winnings should be divided. The case is now in court, with prosecutor Alberto Sergi requesting a three-year prison sentence for embezzlement and a fine of 1,000 euros.
The incident began on February 22, 2021, when Ricardo purchased the lucky ticket in Torri del Benaco. Despite the accusations from his friends Giovanni and Christian, who claim to only have a photo of the winning ticket as evidence of their participation, Ricardo firmly maintains that he has always played alone. During the latest hearing, Judge Sabrina Miceli listened to the testimonies of the involved parties while the winnings remain frozen pending the final verdict.
