This morning, on June 13, 2024, a 31-year-old truck driver from Desenzano was injured in a road accident in Castelgrimaldo, in the Mantova province. The accident occurred around 8:30 am on Goitese road, when the driver lost control of his truck, which was loaded with bricks and construction material. The truck veered off the road, crashing through the guardrail and overturning in a field adjacent to the road. The slippery road conditions due to rain in the preceding hours may have contributed to the loss of control of the vehicle.
The truck driver was transported to Castiglione delle Stiviere hospital for examination, but fortunately, he did not suffer any serious injuries. Local police officers were called to the scene to manage traffic and conduct investigations, while firefighters ensured the safety of the vehicle. An ambulance from the “Soccorso azzurro” service was also present to transport the injured driver. The local authorities cleaned up the road, and traffic on Goitese road was slowed down for about two hours with the implementation of alternating one-way traffic.
