The weekend of June 22nd and 23rd will see the return of Swimtheisland Sirmione, the open water swimming event now in its ninth edition, organized by TriO Events with the sponsorship of Regione Lombardia, Provincia di Brescia, and Comune di Sirmione. Approximately 1,500 athletes will compete in the waters of Lake Garda in various competitions of varying distances and levels of preparation, all supported by Jaked. Among the most anticipated races is the Sunset Swim, a swim at sunset from Giamaica Beach to the historic center, passing through the Grotte di Catullo.
Sunday will be dedicated to the Classic Swim (3,200m), a course that circumnavigates the Sirmione peninsula from Lungolago Diaz to Prete Beach. The event will also feature the participation of the award-winning swimmer Ilaria Cusinato as a special guest. The event not only celebrates the sport but also the natural and historical beauty of the area, offering participants a unique experience while respecting the environment.
