The Summer Park Desenzano is celebrating its fiftieth anniversary this year, promising an unforgettable summer for all visitors. From July 5th to August 25th, the largest summer amusement park in Lombardy will be located in Monte Mario in Desenzano del Garda, offering a rich program of events and themed evenings.
Founded in 1974, the Summer Park has become a regular event for residents of the Basso Garda and beyond. With an area of about 20,000 square meters, the park has been able to renew itself over the years, adding new attractions and improving existing ones. Today, it represents a place of fun suitable for all ages, from families to young people.
This year, the park’s official mascot, Benny the Bear, will be present, ready to welcome visitors in a safe and inclusive space. Safety has always been a priority for the organizers; in fact, private guards will be present during the busiest days to ensure peace of mind for all participants.
The official presentation of the Summer Park Desenzano 2024 took place on Friday, June 21st at the Desenzano City Hall. The initiative is supported by the Municipality of Desenzano del Garda. Marco Piccaluga, from the park’s management, stated, “This year we want it to be a memorable edition for our 50 years of activity in Desenzano.”
The official opening will take place on Friday, July 5th at 8 pm with the traditional ribbon cutting ceremony in the presence of local authorities. The first thousand visitors will receive a special discount of 50 euros to be used throughout the duration of the amusement park.
Among the most anticipated events is the park’s birthday party on Thursday, July 18th, where access to all rides will be available at a special rate of only 20 euros instead of the usual 70. Additionally, themed evenings such as those dedicated to superheroes or the fight against violence against women are planned.
The Summer Park actively collaborates with various local associations to ensure inclusivity and accessibility for all. The “Special Kids” day, scheduled for Wednesday, July 10th, will offer free rides to disabled people thanks to the collaboration with Anffas Brescia.
Marco Piccaluga emphasized the importance of collaboration with the municipal administration, stating, “We are grateful to the municipal administration for the collaboration and support that has never been lacking over time.” The park’s structural improvements have also allowed for the elimination of any architectural barriers.
Mayor Guido Malinverno expressed enthusiasm for the arrival of the annual event, saying, “Welcome back to the Summer Park and to the tradition successfully carried on by the Piccaluga family.” Tourism Councilor Stefania Lorenzoni added, “A proposal like that of the Summer Park adds to the high number of events we offer in the area.”
