Due to adverse weather forecasts, the “Garda Maḉḉ Race,” scheduled for the night of June 22, 2024, has been postponed to a yet-to-be-determined date. The decision was made by the Fraglia Vela Desenzano upon the advice of the Coast Guard, which discouraged the holding of the nighttime regatta on the waters of Lake Garda. The event, known to be one of the most original and adventurous sailing competitions, requires optimal safety conditions for participants.
The “Garda Maḉḉ Race” is a highly anticipated event for sailing enthusiasts, with a route that starts from the Porto Maratona in Desenzano and extends to the buoy in Riva del Garda. The event, conceived in 1996 by some members of the Fraglia Vela Desenzano and led by Andrea Ferrari, offers participants the unique experience of sailing under the full moon.
