On June 28, 2024, the “Tourism and Health” project was officially launched through an agreement between Asst Garda and Visit Desenzano-Consorzio albergatori e operatori turistici. The initiative aims to provide adequate healthcare services to tourists staying in accommodations around Lake Garda during the summer season. The presentation ceremony was attended by Roberta Chiesa, General Director of Asst, Pietro Piovanelli, Medical Director, and Ester Costantino, Head of Dialysis in Desenzano, Gavardo, and Manerbio. Representing the tourism operators were Emanuele Bonotto, President of Visit Desenzano, Vice President Lucia Cerini, and Marco Polettini, President of Visit Brescia.
The main objective of the agreement is to improve the healthcare safety of tourists through preventive strategies that can reduce unnecessary visits to the emergency room for minor injuries. This collaboration aims to make holidays on Lake Garda safer and more peaceful for visitors, while also promoting greater awareness of healthcare practices to adopt during their stay. This pact represents a significant step towards integrating the healthcare and tourism sectors in the region.
