From Friday, June 28th to Thursday, July 11th, 2024, the Sala Domus in Piazza Duomo in Salò (Brescia) will host the solo exhibition of Athos Faccincani: “Around my lake”. Curated by Gianluigi Bettoni, the exhibition highlights the art of a painter with rare sensitivity, capable of transforming darkness into light through vibrant and colorful brushstrokes. The exhibited works will create a path of meditation on light, colors, and simple stories related to Lake Garda, with paintings representing bright and exciting views of the lake.
Athos Faccincani, born in Peschiera del Garda in 1951, has had a career marked by ups and downs. Despite his family’s opposition to his passion for art, Faccincani continued to pursue his dream, receiving the title of “Knight of the Republic” after an exhibition on the Resistance that was appreciated by President Sandro Pertini. However, his artistic life has also gone through periods of crisis, during which he abandoned painting for over a year.
After this break, Faccincani rediscovered the joy of living and painting, creating festive and colorful works that represent a world steeped in poetry, happiness, and vibrant colors. The painter-poet invites the audience to rediscover the joy of childhood through his brilliant colors.
The exhibition at the Sala Domus includes works that enchant with their harmony and chromatic liveliness. Athos Faccincani does not seek to reproduce reality, but to rework it through his personal perception of nature, sun rays, the scent of the wind, and the buzzing of insects.
Throughout his career, Faccincani has exhibited his works in numerous international cities, including New York, Boston, Miami, London, Vienna, Tokyo, Madrid, Zurich, and many others. He has received countless awards, including the European Personality Award in Rome and the Silver Lion at the Narnia Festival, also collaborating with the Geo Rai3 program.
The exhibition “Around my lake” by Athos Faccincani will be open until July 11th, 2024, with the following visiting hours: Monday to Friday from 5:00 pm to 11:00 pm, and Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm and from 5:00 pm to 11:00 pm.
