The Lombardy Region has launched a new competition aimed at photographers and videomakers, with the goal of collecting images and videos that best represent the beauty of the Lombardy territory. The initiative, proposed by the Regional Councillor for Tourism, Territorial Marketing and Fashion Barbara Mazzali, aims to promote the “Lombardia Style” brand through a contest with a total prize pool of €20,000.
The competition, titled “Lombardia Style. Beauty Without Borders,” has been approved by the Regional Council and invites all photography and videomaking enthusiasts to showcase Lombardy through their work. Participants will be asked to capture hidden corners, breathtaking landscapes, artisanal excellence, and success stories from the 12 Lombardy provinces.
Barbara Mazzali emphasized the importance of the creative contribution, stating, “The creation of our new regional brand is open to the contribution of everyone. The creative scope is vast because our region is rich in extraordinary natural beauty.”
The initiative aims to enhance Lombardy’s tourism offering through a collection of images that visually tell the story of its beauty. The selected photographs and videos may be used for promotional events organized by the Lombardy Region, including social media, magazines, and various events.
In terms of technical details, the photographs must be in color and can be either horizontal or vertical. They should not include recognizable faces or commercial brands and must have a minimum resolution of 300 dpi.
For videos, they must be in high definition and can last either 15 or 30 seconds, in the formats 16:9, 1:1, or 9:16. Similarly, recognizable faces and commercial brands are not allowed in the videos.
All submitted works will become the property of the Lombardy Region and regional institutions, which may use them for promotional materials on various platforms.
The competition is open to all individuals of legal age at the time of publication of the call in the Official Bulletin of the Lombardy Region (BURL). The total financial allocation for the prizes amounts to €20,000.
The photographic and video proposals will be examined by an Evaluation Committee composed of regional representatives and potentially regional companies and institutions. The evaluation criteria include the originality of the image/video, technical quality, and communicative effectiveness.
The top five winners in the photo and video categories will receive cash prizes.
