From August 9 to 11, the historic Rocca Visconteo Veneta in Lonato del Garda (BS) will serve as the stage for an unmissable event: the twelfth edition of Lonato in Festival. This annual festival promises to be packed with events and activities designed to entertain both adults and children in a magical and enchanting atmosphere.
A Rich Program of Shows
The festival will feature a variety of artistic performances, ranging from contemporary circus to street performers and puppet theater. The Rocca, a national monument and one of the most imposing fortresses in northern Italy, will provide a captivating backdrop for the shows, with breathtaking views of Lake Garda. The expansive park and castle grounds will host artists from various parts of the world, promising three days filled with wonder.
Family-Friendly Activities
An area of the Rocca will be dedicated to younger visitors, featuring numerous playful activities designed to stimulate children’s creativity. Additionally, a skill park is planned where families can have fun together. Among the main attractions will be performances such as the Grand Café Rouge by Circo Bipolar, aerial acrobatics, and juggling from Cometa Circus, along with entertaining comedic tributes from Ambaradan.
Exceptional Performances
Highlighting the festival will be artists such as Jessica Arpin with her pizza-themed show, Nicola Carrara with engaging juggling acts, and Alessandra Piccolo with polar dance and contortion. Circus families will also take the stage, including the Camus from Switzerland and the Traveling Theater with the Mirabella Family.
Music and Circus: A Unique Combination
Two special projects will further enrich the program: the Swiss duo Banjocircus will present an acrobatic concert titled Crazy Pony Show, while La Contrabbassa will stage an original show that combines clowning and musical theater. The duo I Due Pini will also perform classic Neapolitan melodies accompanied by guitar and mandolin.
Space for Children
For young visitors, theatrical performances will be offered by companies such as Mauro Paganini and The Gipsy Marionettist. Additionally, creative workshops will allow children to try their hand at puppet-making or learn juggling. Fun activities will also be conducted by Catalan master Joan Rovira.
Art and Culture at the Service of the Show
Alongside the main events of the festival, a photographic exhibition curated by Eleni Albarosa will be set up, showcasing the early editions of the “Città di Circo” festival. Contemporary art exhibitions, including one dedicated to Nino Ferrari, will also be on display.
