Riva del Garda is preparing to host an event dedicated to solidarity, titled **Move it for a Reason**, which will take place on August 20 at the Rocca park. This event combines a non-competitive five-kilometer run with a concert by the Irish band **Willin’ Fools**, with the aim of raising funds to support abandoned children with disabilities in foster homes managed by the non-profit organization **Noi per Loro**.
Event Details
Since 2017, the organizers have chosen to merge the tradition of concerts in Riva del Garda with a walk-run open to everyone. The inaugural edition was a significant success, transforming into an eagerly awaited annual event. The route winds along the shores of the lake, starting and ending in the city center, creating a festive and engaging atmosphere. During the event, participants are encouraged to wear t-shirts of a specific color that changes each year, helping to foster a spirit of unity among attendees.
Fundraising and Beneficiaries
The proceeds from the initiative come from the sale of t-shirts priced at 15 euros, local sponsorships, and the support of the Municipality. These funds are used to support various projects aimed at the children in the care facilities supported by the association. “The joy and cheerfulness to the tunes of Willin’ Fools turn into running, walking, dancing… ‘moving for a reason’, that is, becoming family with them,” explain the organizers on their official website.
Evening Program
Participant registration will begin at 7:30 PM, followed by the live concert of the Irish band at 9:00 PM. The run will start at 8:30 PM. Admission to the concert is free, allowing everyone to join the event even without participating in the run.
This event thus represents not only an opportunity for fun and socializing but also an important chance to contribute to a meaningful cause in the Lake Garda area.
