The mayor of Desenzano, Guido Malinverno, has announced a commitment to reconsider the project for the construction of a new hospital, instead proposing the renovation of the existing facility. This announcement came during a meeting with a delegation from the Political Table for the hospital, which consists of local representatives from various parties and associations. The mayor emphasized the importance of considering citizens’ feedback and carefully evaluating the costs and benefits of the renovation.
The initiative has garnered strong support from the community, with the committee “Let’s Keep the Desenzano Hospital on Montecroce” gaining more members and planning events to further raise awareness among the population. The goal is to persuade the Lombardy Region to opt for renovation rather than new construction, thereby improving the services offered to citizens. A public meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, September 10, at the La Zobbia restaurant in Sirmione, followed by other initiatives throughout the area.
