An international congress on plastic surgery took place in Salò, where over 300 surgeons issued a call for moderation against aesthetic excesses. During the BBF 2024, now in its twentieth edition and promoted by Giovanni Botti, founder of the Italian Association of Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery (AICPE), participants discussed practices such as “trout pout” lips and “cat eyes,” emphasizing the importance of maintaining an ethical approach in plastic surgery.
The conference, which included lectures at Villa Alba and live surgery demonstrations at Villa Bella, highlighted innovative techniques to combat signs of aging without resorting to synthetic materials. Chiara Botti, a professor of plastic surgery, stressed the need to differentiate between serious medical practices and those performed by inadequately trained personnel, asserting that every physician must carefully evaluate patients’ requests while respecting their natural evolution.
