The man found dead in Lake Garda on September 23, 2024, has been identified as Luciano Scarpetta, a 54-year-old Tunisian who had been residing in Gargnano for several years. The identification was made possible by his employer, who had reported him missing at the Carabinieri station in Andalo, where Scarpetta worked in a hotel.
The investigation is now being conducted by the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Brescia in collaboration with the Coast Guard and the Financial Police of the Naval Operational Section of Salò to clarify the circumstances surrounding his death. So far, no signs of violence have been found on the body, and investigators are considering the possibility of an extreme act or an accidental fall into the water.
