Salò has recently joined the World4all project, an initiative promoted in collaboration with the Garda Lombardia Consortium to improve the accessibility of local facilities for individuals with reduced mobility. The project aims to map and make accessible public and private buildings, transportation, and recreational spaces, thereby facilitating travel planning for the elderly, individuals with mobility disabilities, and families with young children.
The municipal administration emphasizes the importance of this initiative as part of its social inclusion policies. The initial mapping will focus on twenty public interest facilities, with the intention of extending the project to include private accommodation facilities as well. The Councillor for Social Services, Marcella Merigo, and delegate Andrea Battani stated that this is a crucial step toward making Salò a barrier-free city, enhancing the quality of life for all citizens and visitors.
