Today, October 27, a group of young antifascists will gather in Piazza della Vittoria in Salò to promote democratic values and counter the historical image of the town associated with the Italian Social Republic. The initiative, titled “Don’t Make All of Salò a Fascist Place,” has been organized by Lorenzo and Alessandro, two former schoolmates who decided to take action against the annual celebration of the March on Rome by fascist nostalgics scheduled for tomorrow.
The event will commence at 3:30 PM and will feature speakers such as Professor Davide Gelmetti and Dario Bellini, the president of the Anpi of Medio Garda. The organizers aim not only to reaffirm antifascist values but also to provide historical context regarding the March and the Ventennio, emphasizing the importance of historical memory in combating indifference towards the past.
