The 22nd Garda Trentino Half Marathon will take place on Sunday, November 10, featuring the participation of 5,200 runners from 76 nations, ready to compete on a course that follows the format of previous editions. The race will start at 10:15 AM from the Segantini Square in Arco, while other events, including the 10K and the fun run Run4Fun, will kick off in the early morning hours. Organized by Sandro Poli, the event takes on additional significance following the recent passing of the director’s father.
Among the key competitors, a fierce showdown is expected between Burundian and Kenyan athletes, with Burundian Louis Intunzinzi, the current record holder for the distance (1h02’31”), and his compatriot Leonce Bukuru aiming for a third consecutive victory for Burundi. They will face off against the Kenyan duo of Dikson Simba Nyakundi and Dennis Bosire Kiyaka, both known for their competitive performances. The event promises to be a weekend filled with sports and camaraderie, featuring side events such as the “Welcome Strudel Party” and a complimentary breakfast for athletes before the race.
