Last night, a new overpass was inaugurated between Desenzano and Sirmione, marking a significant milestone in the project for the new high-speed/standard railway line Brescia Est-Verona. The Cepav Due group announced that the laying of the first rail will take place by next spring, while current work includes the construction of the embankment and the installation of railway equipment. Asphalt paving with stabilizing material and the preparation of tunnels to connect the various locations are also underway.
The overpass, constructed of steel and concrete, spans 117.60 meters and will serve to cross over the A4 motorway and the new railway. The completion of this structure is also expected by spring, while the overall project, costing 2.8 billion euros, is scheduled to be finished and tested by 2026. The next phases of the work will include the installation of the technological systems necessary for the operation of the line.
