On **November 24**, Castelnuovo del Garda will host a **torchlight procession against violence** in observance of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. The event, organized by the local administration and the Department for Equal Opportunities, will begin at Piazza Libertà at 4:30 PM and conclude at 6 PM in the XI Aprile 1848 civic hall, where a moment of reflection will be led by Gianpaolo Trevisi. Deputy Mayor Silvia Fiorio emphasized the importance of shared responsibility in the fight against gender-based violence, while Mayor Davide Sandrini called for the active engagement of the community.
During the procession, several local associations will participate with engaging activities, including the local police and educational services. Among the involved organizations are FORmazione CHIARA, the Italian Red Cross – Basso Garda Veronese Committee, and Pink Darsena del Garda. At the end of the event, there will be a moment of sharing over an aperitif. Additionally, the town hall will be illuminated in red on the evenings of November 24 and 25 to further raise awareness on the issue.
