The Volontari del Garda celebrated their 40th anniversary on Friday, December 6, at their headquarters in Salò, in an event attended by civil and military authorities. The ceremony, presided over by President Elia Samuelli and founder Gianfranco Rodella, highlighted the ongoing commitment of this group to civil protection, which is active not only in the Garda area but also in emergency situations across the entire national territory. The GVG has grown exponentially, operating daily with over 30 volunteers ready to intervene for medical assistance, technical support, and other needs.
During the meeting, the results of the activities carried out in 2023 and the early months of 2024 were shared, showcasing a significant increase in interventions compared to the previous year. During the conference, Regional Councillor Guido Bertolaso referred to the volunteers as an “army of good,” emphasizing their crucial role in the history of Italian civil protection. With a fleet consisting of more than 50 vehicles and an always-active operational network, the Volontari del Garda continue to represent a fundamental pillar for the local community and beyond.
