The Municipality of Desenzano has announced a series of measures aimed at lowering speed limits and reducing the noise pollution caused by vehicular traffic. These actions are part of the recently approved acoustic remediation plan and have become necessary after a 2022 survey revealed that noise levels exceeded permissible limits in several areas of the city. The most affected roads include Viale Marconi, Dal Molin, Motta, Francesco Agello, and Monte Corno, where traffic exceeds three million vehicles per year, directly impacting approximately 3,600 residents.
Specifically, a speed limit of 30 km/h will be introduced on Viale Marconi in the short term. Additionally, in the medium term, a special sound-absorbing asphalt will be applied on Viale Dal Molin and Viale Motta to mitigate the noise generated by vehicles. Viale Agello and Viale Monte Corno will also benefit from the same treatment. The overall intervention is estimated to cost around 985,000 euros.
