On Sunday, December 15, the **Vittoriale degli Italiani** will host the event “A Solar Spell,” a celebration marking the conclusion of the commemorations for the centenary of **Eleonora Duse**’s death. Starting at 11 AM, visitors will have free access to the park and can participate in various cultural activities, including the presentation of the book “Italia ingrata. Scritti da Fiume” by Giovanni Comisso and the inauguration of an exhibition by artist Pietro Capone. The event aims to honor not only the illustrious actress but also her connection to Gabriele D’Annunzio, featuring contributions from experts and the screening of a video clip dedicated to her legacy.
The day will feature a rich program culminating at 2:30 PM with a meeting focused on new research sources about Eleonora Duse, along with significant testimonies regarding her life and career. The president of the Vittoriale, Giordano Bruno Guerri, emphasized the importance of this event as an opportunity to reflect on the cultural legacy left by the great actress and the historical path related to Comisso’s experience in Fiume. The exhibition “A Solar Spell,” which will be open until February 28, 2025, will provide an in-depth look at the intersection of visual art and literature.
