The investigation initiated by the Brescia Prosecutor’s Office into the death of a two-month-old infant, who passed away from bronchiolitis at the Desenzano del Garda hospital last January, has been closed. The baby, residing in the Gozzolina district of Castiglione delle Stiviere, had been admitted in critical condition after contracting an acute viral infection that affects the respiratory system of newborns.
Following her death, an autopsy was ordered to clarify the circumstances surrounding her passing. The findings ruled out direct responsibility on the part of the medical personnel involved during the infant’s hospitalization. The closure of the investigation marks the end of the inquiries, with no evidence found that could suggest errors or negligence in the care provided.
