Lonato del Garda is celebrating a significant milestone with the 100th anniversary of the Monument to the Fallen, inaugurated on October 19, 1924. To commemorate this important occasion, a presentation will take place on Saturday, December 14, 2024, in the Captain’s Hall of the Rocca, where the monograph “Lonato and the Monument for its Fallen. For the 100 years since the inauguration 1924-2024” will be presented. The project was developed by four students from the G. Bagatta Classical High School in Desenzano del Garda, in collaboration with the Ugo Da Como Foundation, who conducted historical research on Ugo Da Como’s role in the creation of the work by sculptor Luigi Contratti.
The publication compiles the students’ findings and includes contributions from experts, exploring the connections between Da Como and Contratti, as well as the historical significance of the monument. The presentation will feature local institutional figures such as Mayor Roberto Tardani and Culture Councillor Mariangela Musci. Admission to the event is free but requires reservation at the indicated number.
