The Guardia di Finanza has seized over 5,400 counterfeit perfumes in an operation conducted in Brescia, aimed at combating the sale of non-authentic items. The activity was initiated through territorial monitoring, which led to the identification of a vendor of non-EU origin who was reselling fake perfumes to another individual, also from outside the EU. Following more in-depth checks, the officers searched the suspect’s vehicle and found keys that led to a warehouse in the municipality of Castenedolo, where the counterfeit products were stored.
Inside the warehouse, hidden behind a drywall partition, thousands of perfumes with counterfeit brands and barcodes intended to simulate their authenticity were discovered. The seller has been reported to the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Brescia for trading products with counterfeit trademarks and receiving stolen goods. This operation underscores the commitment of law enforcement agencies in the fight against counterfeiting, which poses a threat to the legitimate economy and fuels issues such as undeclared work and tax evasion.
