A police operation led to the interception of a gang of thieves active in the area while they were driving two stolen cars near the Bingo in Sirmione. The incident occurred yesterday afternoon around 5:30 PM when a patrol noticed the suspicious vehicles with counterfeit license plates and initiated a chase through the streets of Lugana. During the pursuit, one of the vehicles managed to escape, while the other was forced to stop in a dead-end parking lot.
In a desperate attempt to flee, the criminals repeatedly rammed the police vehicle. However, despite their efforts to evade capture, the alleged thieves escaped on foot into the surrounding fields. Inside the abandoned car, burglary tools and balaclavas were found. Law enforcement does not rule out the possibility that this gang may be responsible for other thefts in the neighboring areas between Lombardy and Veneto, and they have intensified patrols to ensure the safety of the local community. Investigations are ongoing to identify and apprehend the fugitives.
