The SP9 Gargnano-Valvestino will reopen on Monday, December 16, at 1 PM, following a lengthy closure due to landslides and collapses that occurred on September 9. Traffic will be managed in a one-way alternating system, with specific time slots: closed from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM and from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM until December 22. During this period, the passage of heavy vehicles will be restricted. After the holidays, an additional two weeks of total closure are planned to complete the road restoration works.
The mayor of Valvestino, Flavio Corsetti, expressed satisfaction with the resumption of traffic and thanked the Province of Brescia and the companies involved in the works. Corsetti emphasized the importance of provincial roads that connect the area, highlighting that the recent natural disasters have prompted a reflection on future investments in public works in the municipality. Additionally, the design for securing the SP9 stretch towards Magasa has been commissioned, with interventions planned for 2025 to enhance road safety.
