A fire has devastated a family’s home in Garda, leaving them homeless and without their belongings. The incident occurred on Sunday, December 22, when a suspected short circuit ignited flames in the room of a five-year-old child. The twenty-three-year-old sister, noticing the danger, managed to rescue the little boy and subsequently attempted to retrieve the family cat, but suffered from smoke inhalation in the process. Despite the prompt intervention of the firefighters, the residence on Monte Baldo Street has been declared uninhabitable, and most of the family’s personal belongings have been destroyed.
Following the incident, a campaign of solidarity has been initiated to support the affected family. A fundraising effort has already surpassed 2,000 euros, thanks to the generosity of around fifty donors. The initiative aims to assist the mother and her children in rebuilding their lives after this tragedy by providing help in finding new accommodation and purchasing essential goods. Anyone wishing to contribute can do so through the dedicated GoFundMe page for the cause.
