LNDC Animal Protection has launched a new campaign ahead of New Year’s Eve, encouraging people to forgo fireworks and firecrackers in favor of more serene celebrations. With a provocative message echoing the famous slogan “make love, not war,” the organization emphasizes the risks and negative consequences associated with the use of firecrackers, both for humans and animals. President Piera Rosati stated, “Let’s take care of ourselves and others; only then can we truly say we have celebrated.”
During this festive season, as New Year’s Eve approaches, the first firecrackers can already be heard in the streets, a sign of a tradition that can be traumatizing for many domestic and wild animals. LNDC Animal Protection urges everyone to reflect on the impact of fireworks and to choose more peaceful alternatives to celebrate the new year, promoting an environment of tranquility and respect for animal life.
