In the Veronese area of Lake Garda, the tradition of the Befana bonfire continues, an event that celebrates the folklore associated with Epiphany and symbolically marks the end of the Christmas festivities. This year, on January 6th, several municipalities along the Veronese shore have organized events to keep this custom alive. In Peschiera del Garda, the Epiphany Bonfire will take place at 4:30 PM at the “La nostra casa” association, where a refreshment point and activities for children will also be available, with the proceeds donated to charity.
Additionally, in Lazise, the event “Brusa la vecia” will be held at Campo San Daniele in Pacengo, starting at 5 PM with the “Lux Arcana” Lights and Fire show, followed by the lighting of the Brujel at 6 PM. Bardolino will offer two appointments for the “brujel,” one along the Preite lakeside and the other in Cisano. Finally, in Garda, the bonfire will feature San Vigilini, pandoro, and mulled wine provided by the Garda Alpine Group, starting at 6 PM at the Arena Amphitheater in Largo Europa.
