On Sunday, January 19, 2025, the theater in Castiglione delle Stiviere will host the operetta “CIN CI LÀ,” a three-act work written by Carlo Lombardo and Virgilio Ranzato. This performance, presented by the Teatro Musica Novecento Company, along with the Orchestra Cantieri d’Arte and the Novecento Dance Company, promises to enchant the audience with its exotic plot set in the Chinese city of Macao.
“Cin Ci Là”: An Exotic Tale
The story revolves around Princess Myosotis and Prince Ciclamino, who are preparing to celebrate their wedding without fully understanding the gravity of the commitment they are about to undertake. Immersed in a childlike world of games and merriment, the young couple will discover that before the birth of their heir, it is customary to suspend all playful activities. In this context, the talented French actress Cin-Ci-Là arrives in Macao, accompanied by her beloved Petit Gris. These two characters will guide the protagonists through a series of hilarious lessons in love.
Debuting in Milan in 1925, the operetta is distinguished by its mix of misunderstandings and fun. With surprising twists and overwhelming duets, the work has maintained its charm over the years and is considered a classic of Italian light theater.
“Sunday at the Theater – Family Drama Series”
The theatrical program continues with “THE TREASURE OF GHOST THEODORO,” which will be staged on Sunday, January 26, 2025, at 5:00 PM. This production by the Fantateatro company offers an educational and engaging performance, perfect for the whole family. The protagonists, Agata and Paolo, will explore their grandmother’s attic and discover a hidden treasure linked to the ghost Theodoro.
The aim of the show is to instill a love for reading in young audiences through a narrative rich in emotions and surprises. Fantateatro employs a combination of acting, theatrical animation, and clowning to create a unique experience that speaks to children about the magic of books.
