A tragic parachuting accident struck the community of Campione del Garda on December 9, 2024, when Matteo Rodolfo Marranca, a 33-year-old base jumper from Pinerolo, lost his life during a jump among the cliffs of the lake. Known on social media as Matè Charro, the young man was admired for his passion for extreme sports. The news of his death has stirred great emotion, and the grief of his family has been amplified by an appeal made by his mother, Dilva, through social media.
In her message, Dilva sought help in locating some of her son’s personal belongings, including two cameras and two pendants of significant sentimental value: one represents a “symbol of flight,” while the other contains the ashes of her beloved Charro. The appeal was shared on the Facebook page of the group “Pubblica assistenza volontari Tremosine Odv,” with a request for anyone who finds these items to return them to the Carabinieri Station in Limone sul Garda or to the parish priest of Campione.
