The relevant authorities and the municipal administration have confirmed a diesel spill within Porto Manfredi, which occurred following a truck accident on Tuesday evening. Deputy Mayor Filippo Gavazzoni reported that the driver damaged an external tank during a maneuver, causing the fuel to leak onto the asphalt, which subsequently contaminated the waters.
The prompt intervention of the Civil Protection and law enforcement allowed for the containment of the spill near the Pioppi beach, thanks to the deployment of absorbent booms for hydrocarbons in the water. Currently, the situation appears to be under control, and no further risks to the surrounding environment have been reported.
