Three artillery shells recovered from the depths of Lake Garda on February 6, thanks to the intervention of the 10th Engineer Regiment of Cremona and the Anti-Explosive Device Clearance Unit. The operations focused on the stretch of water in front of the lemon house and the beach at Prà de la Fam in Tignale, where a diver had reported the presence of explosive devices at a depth of about twenty meters, approximately fifty meters from the shore.
During the dive, three artillery shells dating back to World War II were recovered, weighing a total of 100 pounds and of British manufacture. The ordnance will be transported to a quarry on the Tignale plateau for neutralization. Following the report from the Coast Guard, Mayor Daniele Bonassi issued an ordinance prohibiting any activity in the affected water area until the demining operations are completed.
