Today, February 7th, at noon, an operation to blast unstable rock took place at the Tremosine sul Garda gorge, specifically at km 2+310 of the provincial road. The operation involved an irregular rock mass estimated to be about 68-70 cubic meters, which was partially isolated and unstable, located near the landslide that occurred on December 16, 2023. The controlled explosion resulted in the fall of rock material into the underlying lake area, which was closed to navigation and other activities by an order from the mayor.
During the operations, to ensure lake safety, Coast Guard vessels monitored the area surrounding the intervention. The measures taken aimed to prevent any risk to navigation and to ensure the safety of citizens and tourists present in the area.
