A 33-year-old man of Moroccan descent has been arrested in Castiglione delle Stiviere by the Carabinieri while he was under house arrest. During a surprise check at his residence, the officers discovered a veritable distribution center for the trafficking of narcotic substances, finding nearly 5 grams of cocaine, divided into 9 doses ready for sale, along with a single block of 16 grams of the same substance. In addition to the drugs, a precision scale and over 1,100 euros in cash were also seized.
The operation was initiated after several days of surveillance in the area, where a continuous flow of known drug users had been observed. The man was arrested in the act and, by order of the Prosecutor’s Office of Mantova, has been transferred to the local prison to face charges related to possession for the purpose of trafficking.
