A traffic accident has shaken the community of Torbole last Monday morning, when an 80-year-old woman, Mara Moro, was tragically struck by a concrete mixer while walking along Strada Granda. The victim was accompanied by her friend Maria Miorelli, 77, as they headed towards a bar where Moro had worked for many years. Due to the presence of a construction site blocking their usual path, the two women moved to the opposite side of the street, which lacked protective barriers. Here, during a maneuver, the concrete mixer hit both of them.
Despite the efforts of doctors to save her, Mara Moro passed away shortly after being rushed to the hospital due to severe head trauma. Maria Miorelli sustained serious injuries and is currently undergoing surgery in critical condition. Meanwhile, the carabinieri and labor inspectors are conducting investigations to gather testimonies and footage from cameras in the area to clarify the dynamics of the accident. The Prosecutor’s Office of Rovereto has launched an inquiry to assess any potential responsibilities related to the management of the construction site and local traffic.
