A tragic road accident occurred on January 20 in Casalmaggiore, resulting in the death of a 50-year-old man. The driver, a 31-year-old woman from Desenzano, has been charged with vehicular homicide and driving under the influence. The incident took place along the Asolana road when the woman lost control of her Mercedes, veering off the roadway. The vehicle struck a concrete bridge and overturned, colliding with a second bridge. The passenger in the car died instantly due to the impact.
The driver was transported to the emergency room in Cremona for medical treatment. Subsequent tests revealed that she tested positive for alcohol, with a blood alcohol concentration four times above the legal limit.
