In Lombardy, the project “Civil Protection Meets Schools” has been launched, an initiative aimed at raising awareness among students about rescue activities and school safety. The resolution approved by the Regional Council includes an agreement with the Regional School Office to promote a culture of safety among new generations. The Councillor for Security and Civil Protection, Romano La Russa, emphasized that this project represents an opportunity to strengthen the collaboration that has existed since 2016 between educational institutions and entities operating in the civil protection sector, currently involving 235 schools and 30,000 students trained over the past three years.
The project entails an investment of 120,000 euros to engage young people with the world of civil protection through direct experiences that allow them to understand risk perception and the importance of self-control. The Councillor for Education, Simona Tironi, highlighted the importance of raising awareness among young people regarding their potential involvement in local civil protection associations, aligning with the growing youth interest in environmental and sustainable issues.
