Today, Monday, March 3rd, the “Let’s Keep the Hospital on Montecroce” Committee has called for a citizen mobilization in Piazza Malvezzi, in Desenzano del Garda, at 5 PM. The initiative aims to express opposition to the proposal for the construction of a new hospital at a different location from the current one, emphasizing the importance of maintaining the healthcare facility on Montecroce. The committee has reported that in the coming days, an agreement will be signed between the Lombardy Region and other local entities to initiate the project, despite concerns raised regarding its impact on the community and the lack of transparency in the procedural process.
In particular, committee members have expressed doubts about the stance of the Malinverno Administration, which initially opposed the new hospital in the “buca” area to protect the Local Park of Supracommunal Interest. The mobilization has also been organized to demand public clarifications regarding the content of the memorandum of understanding related to the redevelopment of the current hospital. Through this action, citizens aim to make their voices heard to ensure that healthcare services meet the needs of the territory.
